A dogs lifeThis one I like, written two years ago, and found in my Box O' Crap as I cleared it. There was no assignment, no school teacher ordered it, it was just something I wrote, right out of the blue, in the comfort of my own bedroom. My first horror story. It's funny, the random thoughts that pop into your head...A dogs life

The old man sighed.
He glanced at the young boy at his side. The lad seemed to have attached himself to him. He didn't know where the boys family was, or even if they were still alive.
"How are we for supplies, lad?" he asked.
The boy checked the bag beside him.
"Five bottles of water, half a loaf of bread, a bag of apples and some cheese."
The old man shook his head.
"Not a lot. We'll have to get more later."
The boy looked around the blocked storm drain they were sheltering in. It was damp and smelly, but it was warm. And safe.
"How?" he quavered. "What about...?"
"I'll think of something."
There was silence.
"Sir?" the boy asked.
"How'd this happen?"

old old old old old old old storyIn order to prep for the army, I have been clearing out my room, digging through my Box O' Crap from way back when. In one, I found an old essay from...god, what was I, ten? I used to me home schooled by my parents, and I had been set an assignment on what I did in my summer holidays, and my dad said that if I wanted, I could make it up. So I wrote my first ever piece of fan fiction.old old old old old old old story

Anyone here played masters of Orion II? It's an old PC game where you run a space empire. I wasn't very good at it, having the tactical knowledge of a house fly, but the alien design was awesome, and I'd always play as one race that looked like cats.
Any-hoo, this was written before I even knew what fan fiction was. It's laughably bad, blatant self insertation, and the spelling had a few rough points. I corrected the spelling and the punctuation, but otherwise it's exactly as it was written just under a decade ago. Read and laugh, people, at this abomination!
It all started when I was playing master of ori

Emperor Markus paced over the floor, six legs clicking over the polished marble as he listened to Khan's report.
"-The political situation is very tense, Sire. Many races refuse to believe you have any intentions of peace, despite your stated desires, and the Kerchu flatly refuse to have anything to do with us. They have quite the grudge it appears."
"Well, we did enslave their race during the days of the Great War, so I think they're justified in this case. They can wait. Over time, they'll get used to us. What matters is the non-aggression pact between us and the Lombaxes. If we can sign it, it will go a long way towards moving us forwards. It's not quite a peace treaty. But it can take us to a place where the seeds of peace may one day be planted. I may not see it in my lifetime, but if it means future generations know peace, I'll fight to the death for it."
"Well spoken, Sire." said Khan smoothly. "However, there is another matter that requires your attenti

It was hard to believe, looking at the area now, that it had once been the stronghold of a powerful evil, that vile acts of cruelty had been planned here. The stones and rubble of the Kaos stronghold were covered in a soft green curtain of moss, the odd Sargassoian flower blooming here or there. This was a dry part of Sargasso, the ground relatively firm underfoot, and a gentle breeze blew away the ever present smell of Sargasso, which tended to put people in mind of cabbages. It was almost pleasant, with the warm air and bright sunlight.
But to Shona, this was a very dark place indeed...
It had been Zoe's idea to scout around the place for clues. Shona understood the logic to this. It had been the last place Kayla had been sighted. It was highly likely she had left something behind that would point to her location, some item or note.
But it didn't make it easier.
Here had been the place where she had lost her childhood, tortured over and over again in the name of science. Th
