A little something I drew yesterday and posted on tumblr, but no one seemed to notice, so here it is! I got inspired by looking at pictures of desert rodents, and decided they would make awesome pets on Fastoon, and given he's my favourite character, it was only natural I'd be drawing Li'l Alister with his pet Jack-rat, Bouncer.

Jack rats are found nowhere else but on Fastoon. While not exceptionally bright, they are mostly sweet natured and gentle, extremely tolerant creatures who never really object to being lugged around like teddies by their (typically young) owners. Jack rats are easy to care for, making perfect beginner pets.
The one flaw in their otherwise friendly nature is they are highly territorial to other jack rats, and any hopping into anothers property will be soundly seen off minus a few clumps of fur.
Jack rats are surprisingly loyal for rodents, and often follow their owners everywhere.
There is little difference between males and females. Alister and his father both thought Bouncer was a male until "he" had 8 babies in the laundry hamper...
